The ADM6109 dissertation is the second research-based document carried out at university, discussing the controversial post-WW2 design style that revolutionized modernism and changed the way we seek functionality in designs. Three main areas of investigation were put forward, those being the Social, Historical aspects of the style in addition to its Preservation. The latter part of the report does discuss the influence on different industries and how it redefined the simplistic mindset.

The purpose of this brief is to enable students to undertake a sustained, in-depth, and theoretically informed research project exploring an area that is of personal interest to us. To maintain an appropriate approach to the brief, guidance towards choosing a research topic that is relevant to students' personal disciplines is provided by module leaders.

The dissertation was aimed to act as a link between the starting university module and the final submission. An appropriate final product is then going to be made from the research and concepts carried out in the document and reflect those particular findings. The final module is essentially a combination of all previous projects/reports to finalize one’s specialization and find their place in the design industry. Furthermore, it aims to establish connections between necessary core skills, academic development, employability, and professional practice. It seeks to provide a context where students can develop as creative thinkers, be entrepreneurial and maximize opportunities available to us in the design industry.
