Signify, being the brand name used for the PHILIPS lighting department, partnered up with the university, to observe and examine the use of futuristic lighting technologies within a user-centered design. Concepts generated by students are presented to the PHILIPS representative, selling the prototype through detailed sketches, material choices, and other information that may be deemed applicable to the project.
The lighting market is always on the move with new revolutionary and environmentally conscious products. Understanding the types of environments these products can be placed in is very crucial in both recognizing a designer’s identity and the presentation stages of a project. And this understanding is acknowledged in a report written before the start of this module. It focuses on the social, psychological, and political factors of co-working spaces, where products such as the ‘OXUS’ are placed in.
OXUS, a product inspired by nature's strongest shape—the hexagon. Engineered with precision and inspired by the efficiency of honeycomb structures, this creation embodies the hexagon's unparalleled strength and resilience.
